Hirschgarten
The Hirschgarten (literal translation: deer garden) is a park in Munich which was originally founded around 1780 from Kurfürst Karl Theodor as hunting ground for the bavarian nobleness.
In the fifties of the last century, the park was altered as an recreation area for people to play football or chess, it has some basket ball areas, a merry-go-round and you'll also find Munich hugest beer garden in this park. (they consider themselves as Europe's hugest beer garden, though)
This park not only has the name Hirschgarten, you'll also find an huge enclosure for deer there, just a few steps away from the area where you sit and drink beer and eat bavarian foot. Of course these deer are not for hunting, they are just eating and drinking and lying around (just like most human beings in the park)
If you are in Munich and it's a nice and warm day, the Hirschgarten is the perfect place to spend hours relaxing/playing/frolicking/eating and drinking. Whatever you want. The bavarian form of heaven on earth ;)
