Ohel Jakob Synagogue
The Ohel Jakob synagogue (from Hebrew: “Jacob's Tent”) was built 2004-2006 as the new main synagogue of the Munich Jewish community, located at Sankt-Jakobs-Platz. The synagogue was inaugurated on November 9, 2006, on the 68th anniversary of Kristallnacht[1]. The opening ceremony was lead by Charlotte Knobloch, President of Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland. The building is part of the new Jewish Community Center containing the synagogue, a museum, a kosher restaurant and kindergarten.

Thoughts from Rhode Island
These are really just "snapshots" taken while in Newport.
I need to go back (SOON!) and take more artsy images that would be more worthy of MacMurph.
Humbly,
-Jim

Top of Germany
The Zugspitze (Zug = "draught", Spitze = "peak") is the highest mountain in Germany. It is located at the Austrian border in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria. There is a cog railway (Zugspitzbahn) leading from the tourist resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the peak. There are also two cable cars that go to the peak from the base: one ascends from the German side of the mountain at the Eibsee, and the other ascends from Austria. The peak is regularly crowded with tourists.

Frauenkirche
This cathedral was begun in 1468 on the site of a much older church and was completed after 20 years. The majestically somber building is capped with twin towers. In spite of massive bombings, these towers escaped Allied bombardments during World War II and now serve as landmarks on Munich's skyline and are used so much so that they've also become a symbol of the city.
