New Bungalows
After a couple of nights in Joy Bungalows we changed to this resort. New Bungalows is a smaller complex than Joy and it is nearer to the village - only 15 min. walk. Price per bungalow with own WC/shower per night was less than USD20. Food in the restaurant was excellent. No power in the bungalows, only a few hours in the evening in the restaurant. We liked the 'feeling' in these bungalows. There are a couple of bungalow resorts on the island which provide power for 24 hours e.g. Woodland Lodge (owned by a British-Thai couple), Andaman Beach Resort etc. However, those resorts are quite full of children during school holiday times.

Koh Jum Seafood
This is the best restaurant in the village. Food is excellent, the atmosphere and view unique and service good and friendly. Prices are very reasonable (10 USD = 300 TBH). Food in the bungalow resort restaurants was amazingly good as well and prices as reasonable. In fact, we did not even once eat a bad meal in Thailand.

Baan Koh Jum 1(2)
These two albums, Baan Koh Jum 1 and 2 are from the southern village of Jum Island. It is a tiny village but picturesque and people were very helpful and friendly. The only down side was lack of communication: not many spoke English.

Arrival on Koh Jum, Andaman Beach
We stayed the first two nights in Joy Bungalows. Lovely bungalows, lantern was provided for the night hours when there was no power and the prices were reasonable, between USD25 and USD35 per bungalow per night. The restaurant was very good, particularly the Thai green curry soup with seafood!

Transfer by Long Tail Boats to Koh Jum
The ferry stopped in the middle of the bay and long tail boats came from each bungalow resort to drop off the leaving customers and pick up the new ones.

From Yao Yai to Jum
Yao Yai and Jum are both islands in the Andaman Sea. We arranged the transfer from Yao Yai to Krabi (main land) with Yao Yai Bungalows (taxi to harbour, around USD20 and long tail boat to Krabi, another USD20 and a local bus to Krabi around USD5). In Krabi we were dropped off in front of a travel agency, which arranged transportation to another Krabi-harbour and a ferry ticket to Koh Jum (around USD20). We also booked there a bungalow for the first two nights at about USD35/night. Arrangements were easy. The woman in the travel agency spoke excellent English.
